When the choir sang" Can You Hear Me? "(written about young people with hearing and speech problems) two local policewomen accompanied the choir's singing with sign language. The choristers looked very smart as they were wearing their new pink tops for the first time.

With Music Director Jean Davies, and Accompanist Beverley Baker the choir sang thirteen songs, including a wonderful rendering of a Quodlibet (two tunes sung at the same time) of "I Believe" and "Ave Maria".One group of songs was conducted by Sally Roper, the Deputy Director of Music.

Supporting Caerphilly Ladies Choir were two excellent young musicians. Twenty years old Jessica Allen ,the Soprano soloist has sung many times with the ladies choir. She won the Caerphilly Young Musician Award in 2007, and is studying to become an Opera singer. The other soloist was Lucille Price, our saxophone soloist from Newport. This year Lucille won The Caerphilly County Young Musician Award. Both performed brilliantly.

The Compere, Marjorie Gray, thanked the large audience for being so appreciative, and final speech of thanks and praise was given by Councillor James Fussell, the Deputy Chairman of Caerphilly County Borough Council.for the choir and artists who had given such a feast of great music.
